Virgin hair lasts as long as you let it. The bundles we sell have the cuticle intact, which means they behave like hair growing from a scalp: they respond to gentle washing and they suffer under harsh products. A few habits make the difference between hair that lasts a season and hair that lasts a year or more.
Washing
Wash the bundles every one to two weeks, or sooner if product builds up. Use a sulfate free shampoo, lukewarm water, and work in one direction from the weft down. Rubbing the hair against itself is what causes tangling, so keep your hands moving with the strand, not across it. Follow with a moisturizing conditioner, leave it in for a few minutes, and rinse until the water runs clear.
Drying
Press the water out with a towel rather than wringing. Let the bundles air dry when you can. If you use heat, keep the dryer on a low setting and finish with cool air. Curly and wavy textures hold their pattern best when left to dry untouched.
Heat and color
Because the cuticle is intact, the hair takes heat and color the way natural hair does. Always use a heat protectant, keep flat irons under 350 degrees, and do a strand test before coloring a full bundle. Lifting to very light shades is possible but should be done gradually.
Storage
When the hair is not installed, brush it out, fold it loosely, and keep it in a satin bag or the box it arrived in. Avoid plastic bags, which trap moisture. Stored dry and out of sunlight, bundles keep their texture between installs.
