A handmade lash band is a small thing, and with a little care one pair can be worn many times. Most of the damage we see comes from three habits: pulling lashes off in a hurry, letting glue build up on the band, and sleeping in them. Here is what we do instead.
Applying
Measure the band against your lash line and trim from the outer edge if it is too long. Apply a thin line of adhesive along the band, wait thirty seconds until it turns tacky, and press the band into place starting at the center. A thin coat holds better than a thick one and is far easier to clean off later.
Removing
Never pull from the lashes themselves. Hold the outer corner of the band and peel inward slowly. If the glue resists, dab a little oil free makeup remover along the band first. Pulling the fibers is the fastest way to loosen them from the band.
Cleaning
After each wear, lift any dried adhesive off the band with tweezers or your fingertips. Once a week, or when mascara has built up, lay the pair on a clean towel and brush them gently with a cotton swab dipped in oil free remover. Let them dry fully before putting them back in the case.
Storing
Keep the lashes in the tray they came in, curved side against the mold, so the band keeps its shape. Kept clean and dry, the fuller styles like Belle and Harmony can last twenty wears or more, and the lighter styles like Aria and Nova often go longer.
